Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have heard about the benefits of music therapy for mental health and overall well-being. Can you provide insights into how music therapy works as a therapeutic intervention? Additionally, are there specific genres or techniques within music therapy that are recommended for promoting mental health and enhancing overall well-being?

Thank you.

Hi,

We welcome you to the icliniq.com family.

I appreciate the confidence you place in me for your healthcare consultation.

Music therapy is one of the old concepts to reduce stress in old times. It is one of the best methods for relaxation. It helps to increase the secretion of serotonin and dopamine in the brain. These neurotransmitters help to alleviate anxiety and depression. Indian classic music is the best genre to deal with it. Other methods also help to improve your mental health. These activities deal with increasing serotonin and dopamine in the brain. I suggest you try the following:

1. You should do exercises daily for 30 to 45 minutes, like at least going for a walk.

2. Try doing meditation for 20 minutes daily. Just sit in a place in a comfortable position and try to concentrate on your normal breathing. Do not stop or force yourself to stop your thoughts; just let it be. It will help to relax you.

3. Eat healthy, home-cooked foods, and avoid junk food.

4. Drink enough water.

5. Spend quality time with friends and family daily.

6. Spend time on creative hobbies like reading good books, writing journals, painting, drawing, and learning new skills or language or musical instruments.

7. Get enough sleep, at least seven to eight hours daily.

8. Avoid tobacco, alcohol, or any substance abuse.

I hope this information will help you. Please revert in case of further queries.

Thank you.
