Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I got married a year ago and have been trying to conceive. My husband wants me to get pregnant, but I am not conceiving. Kindly suggest some multivitamins or folic acid.

Answered by Dr. Uzma Arqam

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I suggest you have a normal BMI (body mass index) and weight by walking and exercising. Have a balanced diet with lots of vegetables and fruits. Your husband's general health should improve, and he should avoid smoking. Have sex in the fertile period of the cycle. For example, if the cycle is of 28 days, the fertile period is from day eight to day 13 of the cycle. I suggest you have Folic acid 0.4 mg. Consult a specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take medications with their consent. Please engage in recreational activities. If you have irregular cycles, send me a detailed menstrual history to treat accordingly.

Treatment plan

I suggest you take Folic acid. Have sex in the fertile period, and take a balanced diet.

Preventive measures

Consult a doctor and get the clinical examination done.

Regarding follow up

You can follow up as per the need.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
