Can a testicular cyst cause increased levels of estradiol?
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 21-year-old male. I visited a local doctor and he diagnosed a cyst on my left testicle (0.59 inches). He suggested that it is not necessary to undergo any surgery now. Also, I have increased levels of estradiol, bilirubin, and SGOT. But my general medicine doctor suggested that there is nothing to worry about.
Is the cyst the reason for increased levels of estradiol?
Please help.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
These metabolic alterations are not because of the cyst. You may rest assured, and we can observe the cyst until it causes pain or starts to grow rapidly in size or changes significantly in appearance. Increased estrogen may form from peripheral aromatization in obese individuals. Please check your weight, as that can help.
I hope this helps you.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thank you for your answer.
I assume that the problem is not from the cyst, as I have been carrying it since I can remember. It has not caused any discomfort. Although it is not from the cyst, it makes me even more curious as I have been having bad stomach, recurrent tonsillitis, compromised immunity, low metabolism, and mild gynecomastia. Also, I work out for almost two hours, with mostly cardio exercises. Still, I am keeping on putting on weight. Even my gym trainer was concerned about the same.
Does it have any link with the liver?
Please help.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
We can determine if your liver is the cause by getting liver function tests. However, such subtle symptoms may not necessarily derange your enzymes. Many hormones may also be responsible for your symptoms and gynecomastia. However, I doubt that it requires any particular treatment.
I hope this helps you.
Thank you.
Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
