How to ensure good oral hygiene after dental treatment?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 18 years old, and I have had four fillings due to severe decays; and I will be getting a root canal on another tooth. Also, I am getting two teeth removed. I am very scared, and right now, I believe my teeth are messed up and can never change. Do you have any advice on how I can look after them and keep them healthy and away from cavities?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Do not worry, and I appreciate that you are so careful about your oral health. The first thing is maintaining your oral hygiene is key to your oral health. Brushing your teeth twice with proper brushing technique, one-time flossing, changing your brush at least every two months, and night brushing are mandatory. Avoid junk food, sugar-containing dishes, soft drinks, and other carbonated drinks. See your dentist for a general checkup every six months.

I hope you are satisfied with my answer. For further queries, you can consult me at icliniq.

Thank you.
