Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 25 years old. My height is 5.22 feet, and I weigh 154.3 pounds. It has been two to three weeks now. I have been having cramps, breast nipple pain, sleeping a lot in the morning and nausea with and without vomiting. Sometimes feeling sharp pains in the stomach, shortness of breath, loss of appetite and metallic taste, but the pregnancy test shows a faint line and negatives. I tried a scan and discovered a left ovarian cyst.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your question.

An ovarian cyst is a fluid collection within a sac in the ovaries. Most do not cause any issues, and the criteria for intervention depends on whether they are symptomatic and other factors, such as the size of the cyst. Intervention usually involves surgery to remove the cyst if they are causing issues. Most ovarian cysts would resolve even without intervention. Sometimes a cyst can rupture and lead to symptoms like what you are experiencing. This may make you feel ill, and treatment is usually supportive with intravenous fluid therapy, pain relief, and bed rest. If you feel lightheaded, have a rapid heartbeat, and feel anxious, you may require specialized care.

I hope I have been of help. Do have a nice day.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
