Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am attaching the blood test reports. How serious is the patient's condition?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query.

I went through the reports (the attachments removed to protect the patient's identity).

It seems pancytopenia was present. Hence your hemoglobin level might be low and in that case, you might be given a blood transfusion for improvement if the doctor feels it after the examination. The MRI shows suspected TB (tuberculosis) as per the mentioned history. So rule out TB by sputum examination and chest x-ray examination. Tuberculosis can lead to pancytopenia.

Any viral infection or bacterial infection can also lead to bone marrow suppression and so pancytopenia can occur.

Hope it helps.

Thanks and regards.
