Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 18 years old. I have a problem that suddenly an anxiety is taking place and my heart beat increased, the heart is like a balloon, sometimes I think that my breath is going and I am going to die. What should I do?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The problem you are experiencing is called a panic attack. In this problem, the person feels as if he is going to have a heart attack but this does not happen. This problem usually starts in young age. I would advise you to get your thyroid function test done and also follow the following. Regular deep breathing exercise, meditation, and yoga, regular physical activity. You should go for a formal psychiatric consultation if it occurs again.
