Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had a history of foul-smelling discharge smelling like a dead rat, so I took a Pap smear. Can you kindly explain my Pap smear result, what it means and what medication I should use? Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Pap (Papanicolaou test) smears are the screening tool to assess cellular changes within the cervix. Documentation exists for varying levels of sensitivity and specificity for the test. Because the test is not 100% sensitive, it is important to conduct Pap smears routinely. Your report is normal. No signs were suggestive of early cervical cancer.

I hope this helps.
