Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have PCOD. In spite of that, I want to get pregnant soon. I took the PCOD medication for six months. I was using Krimson and due to uneasiness, now I am using Deviry. Please suggest the ways to get pregnant. I am eagerly waiting for your reply.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Firstly Deviry alone cannot treat your PCOD. PCOD is a polycystic ovarian disease which causes an increased testosterone levels in women leading to androgenic features and multiple small cysts in the ovaries. It is one of the most common reasons for irregular menses, especially oligomenorrhoea. You have to be placed on a low dose oral contraceptive pill with Myo-inositol supplementation and reduction in weight with exercise and diet. Also, increase your water intake. All these are to be done for three to six months and have been advocated for the treatment of PCOD. But now that you want to get pregnant, you have to stop taking Deviry (Medroxyprogesterone) completely and opt for an ovulation induction and timed intercourse cycle under a gynecologist's supervision, which is an assisted reproductive technique.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
