Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I missed my periods for three months four years ago, and after all investigations, I was diagnosed with PCOS. The doctor prescribed six months course to regularise periods as Diane and Normoz. And during this course, my husband and I did not even plan once for a baby. As I stopped my course a month later, I again missed my period. Then again, I consulted another gynecologist, and she started ovulation induction and suggested us for baby planning. I have been on this course for the last six months and continue taking the tablet Ovabless-myo once a day. But for the last two months, I stopped taking this tablet and started some homeopathic treatment. After that, I got my menses in the first month, but again in the second month, and I missed my menses till now. Now I have moved to another city and consulted a gynecologist, and she prescribed Deviry-10 mg. Should I take to regularise my menses? Or should I continue Ovabless-myo along with Deviry-10 mg again? I am trying to conceive but am unable to do it. Kindly suggest to me the best what to do for conception.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

At present, again, you did not get your menses. Multiple hormonal intakes are not nice as they also have side effects. I suggest you take a tablet of Primolute N (Norethisterone) 10 mg twice daily for seven days and wait one to two weeks for the menses. After that, start an oral contraceptive pill for three months to regulate periods. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take medications with their consent. On the second day of the period, have better blood tests to repeat as you did last year. It is better to have a transvaginal scan. Take oral contraceptives cyclically to regulate the cycle for a cycle. It should be for three months as you are in a hurry to conceive. Take a tablet of Folic acid daily, 5 mg. Have complete treatment for any health issue you have. Have sex in the fertile period of the cycle. Do regular exercise and walk to have a normal BMI and weight. Collect lab and scan report and discuss here.

Thank you.

The Probable causes

Hormonal imbalance.

Investigations to be done

Blood sex hormones on the second day of the period, transvaginal scan, and blood tests need to discuss here or with a local gynecologist.

Treatment plan

Combined oral contraceptive pill for a cycle after menstrual induction (by tablet Primolute N) twice daily.

Preventive measures

Folic acid, sex in the fertile period of the cycle, and early booking and regular follow-up may need hormonal support during pregnancy like the tablet Duphaston (Progestin) 10 mg twice daily till the late second trimester at least.

Regarding follow up

Follow up with blood test and scan reports.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
