Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 35 years old married woman with two children. Although earlier I was having regular periods with 28 days cycle, but for the last six months, I am having irregular periods with less than 28 days gap in between. The gaps in the last four periods are within 20 days. And this is noticed that during the last period only, the bleeding was heavy and had a foul and unpleasant smell too. But after the periods are over for one week or so, at times I feel pain in the centre of the abdomen also. Is it a sign of PID and if so how to treat and cure it? Please advice.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You should be investigated for urine infection, and for PID (pelvic inflammatory disease). Meanwhile, you can start tablet Zenflox Oz (Ofloxacin and Ornidazole) twice a day for five days for foul smell and infection which can help you in PID and UTI both. Drink more water, and for heavy and regular periods you can start tablet Regestrone (Progestin) 5 mg once a day for 30 days, but this is a hormonal tablet. So, if started you should take regularly at a fixed time. Do not miss the tablet. Rest of the treatment I will start after an ultrasound report and urine microscopic examination. Please get a urine complete and microscopic examination and ultrasound of the lower abdomen to rule out PID or any fibroid uterus.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
