Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 20-year-old male, and since the onset of puberty at around 10 years of age, I have been experiencing recurring prostate cramps in the pelvic area. These cramps appear to follow a roughly fortnightly cycle and have persisted continuously since the beginning of puberty, spanning approximately a decade. The pain episodes last anywhere from one to eight seconds, with the intensity increasing from the first to the last second. Typically, the pain lasts around three to four seconds on average, remaining constant during that time. Despite experimenting with various foods, these symptoms do not appear to be related to irritable bowel syndrome.

I have researched prostate cancer, but the only symptoms that somewhat match my experience are more frequent urination (although I have increased my water intake) and potential discomfort during urination, which may be related to solidified pre-ejaculate within the urethra breaking upon urination. The closest match I have found in terms of symptoms is pudendal neuralgia. I am currently taking Lymecycline capsules for acne.

What might be causing my symptoms and how to address it? Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

Based on your description, it seems that your symptoms may align with pelvic pain syndrome. This is not indicative of prostate cancer, so there is no need for significant concern. Your symptoms appear to be relatively mild as they occur only once every fortnight. In such cases, medical treatment is not usually required, as it is primarily focused on symptom management.

I suggest you consider engaging in exercises or yoga, particularly those focused on pelvic floor relaxation. These exercises can help alleviate the discomfort you experience.

Thank you,

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
