Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 20-year-old male. I am suffering from a penis problem. My penis has pimple-like spots all over the inner and outer layers. So please tell me what I can do.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
It seems you have condyloma acuminata or genital warts. It is a contagious disease caused by the human papillomavirus. Generally, two-thirds of individuals who have sexual contact with a partner with condyloma acuminata develop lesions within three months. Oral, laryngeal, or tracheal mucosal lesions are transferred by oral-genital contact. Anal intercourse in both males can transmit lesions in the perianal area. I need to rule out the cause of immunosuppression by doing specific investigations like HBsAg (hepatitis B surface antigen), anti-HCV (hepatitis C virus antibody), HIV (human immunodeficiency virus), and VDRL (venereal disease research laboratory test).
I suggest the following treatment plan.
1. Radiofrequency cautery.
2. Chemical cautery (30 % trichloroacetic acid).
3. CO2 (carbon dioxide) laser should be done by an experienced dermatosurgeon, or topical application of Imiquimod (immune response modifier) is an option.
However, please consult a physician, discuss with them and start taking the medications with their consent.
I hope this helps.
Thank you and take care.
