What can be done for cut on foreskin during intercourse?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have developed a small cut on my foreskin during an intercourse with my wife. Did not realise it initially but was feeling uncomfortable while passing urine. I washed it and left it unattended for a few days and abstained from having intercourse for some time. It had reduced. I did masturbate a few times and felt a little discomfort though there was not any pain. I recently had an intercourse with my wife and the cut seems to have become fresh again. I took a break from intercourse and masturbation for the past 10 days and started using Fusee B cream for the past one week on the cut before going to sleep. Sometimes during erection, the cut seems to become a little fresh.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

This appears to be a tear in or near the frenulum. This may continue to recur as healing will cause scarring and further contraction, while sexual activity will stretch and tear it again. You should see a surgeon or urologist if this does not heal. A minor surgery called frenuloplasty may be needed. Take care.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I did meet a skin specialist and was advised to use Fusee B cream for three weeks, guess it is used for cuts. Should I continue using the cream? Is this a minor problem? And, does this kind of a cut usually heal by itself?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

This is a common and minor problem. Yes, it may heal on its own but it may occur again during intercourse. Yes, you can use this cream and see but if it occurs again then get a frenuloplasty done. It is a daycare procedure under local anesthesia.
