Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

The doctor advised us to take the following vaccines. Pneumococcal and influenza vaccines with a gap of five days, repeat pneumococcal vaccine after three years, and influenza vaccine every year. I doubt whether these vaccines cause problems in generating antibodies in my body naturally. Will my body depend on these external vaccines to produce antibodies? And with that effect, will my immunity decrease?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com. I read your query and can understand your concern. These vaccines do not affect naturally occurring antibodies. Instead, these vaccines produce antibodies for two specific organisms. 1. Pneumococcal pneumonia bacteria. 2. Influenza virus. So these vaccines will not affect your body's natural response to other organisms. Instead, your body will produce antibodies for other organisms. No need to worry about this. I hope this helps. Thank you and take care.
