Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I touched my girlfriend's hand after peeing. I am afraid that I might have precum from my peeing at home as I was sexually aroused. Will she get pregnant if my hand had precum?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It is important to learn her last menstrual period date and also the day you both went out together. Also, her cycles have been regular in the last 6 months or not?

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

She does not know her cycle. It was irregular for the last 6 months due to Depo shot injection. She has almost been bleeding irregularly for the last 6 months and had black discharges. She does not know her cycles.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

When did she bleed last?

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

We did not have sex together at all or even touch each other's genitals. I guess she did not stop bleeding till now she tells me it is not bleeding but there is discharge.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Keeping in view her irregular bleeding pattern with black discharges indicates towards possible anovulatory cycle. So even if you had precum anytime over your fingers and if even 5 minutes has passed before touching your partner then semen becomes dried and sperms do not survive so long as their structure is very delicate. The chances of her getting pregnant are difficult to assess based on her periods but the scenario depicted by you reduces the chances of her getting pregnant with precum. I still insist, on just getting a serum beta hCG test done after 7 days to be sure of pregnancy. Also, get your partner's ultrasound pelvis done to check for her endometrial thickness and if no further plans for continuing Depot injection then she should be starting herself on pills post the ultrasound.

I hope this helps.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Black discharges were one month back from the day she got the injection. Recently she bled dark red with moderate bleeding. Can precum cause and lead to pregnancy? If this precum contain sperm after ejaculation? If she wiped with a tissue that had precum which was transferred from my finger to her fingers to a toilet paper tissue within 10 to 15 minutes?

Answered by Dr. Sameer Kumar

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It is difficult to give answers to each of your detailed descriptions of situations. I would just suggest the fact that as the hCG test was done 15 days after you both met and the levels were less than 2, she is not pregnant. You may do the test again after 3 days if you want to be doubly sure.

I hope this helps.
