How to overcome the fear of pregnancy?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Last month, my boyfriend and I made out. We did not have penetrative sex, but we rubbed each other's genitals. I was not very sure if precum was present. I am a 101 % virgin, and my hymen is also intact. A week ago, I menstruated for about five to seven days. Unfortunately, it was a heavy one full of blood clots. A week after my period (probably my ovulation week), I experienced back pain and sore breasts, especially on my left side. I also feel nauseated due to the stress and anxiety brought by the pregnancy scare. Now, I am experiencing frequent urination. My feet are cold, but my body is feeling hot. My mouth is dry, and my back is aching (upper and lower). I do not feel nauseated. I am pretty sure I have a hormonal imbalance due to the acne around my chin. I was also so stressed and anxious for the past few weeks because of the pregnancy scare. I am seven days before my period. Here are my questions: Am I not pregnant? Do I have a urinary tract infection? What could be the cause of the symptoms I have mentioned? Is it because of stress?

Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

As per the history, there was no unprotected vaginal intercourse and no deposition of semen deep in the vagina. Therefore, periods already occurred after the act, and no chance of pregnancy at all.

Be relaxed. Symptoms may be due to a hormone disturbance caused by anxiety and stress. Burning in urination is due to the consumption of less water.

It would be best if you take plenty of water daily.

I suggest Citralka syrup (Disodium Hydrogen Citrate) 15 mL in 200 ml of water three times a day for seven days.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reach out in case of further queries.

Thank you.
