Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am pregnant and sharing my ultrasound report with you. My early five-week transabdominal ultrasound shows an irregular gestational sac and a perfect yolk sac. There is no bleeding or pain.
I have suffered from a miscarriage last year. Due to my previous losses, I am taking 400 mg Progesterone and Baby Aspirin 81 mg. Can this situation correct itself?
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have checked your ultrasound reports (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity) which indicates irregular gestational sac that would need monitoring. You are taking the correct medication.
It can become normal. We will have to wait for two weeks and get an ultrasound done. The fetal cardiac activity also needs to be monitored.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thanks for your suggestion.
Can this situation correct itself? I was confused because the yolk sac is fine. Do you agree that the images are abnormal?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Yes, I agree that the gestational sac is irregular and can correct itself. However, it is a high-risk indicator for a possible miscarriage. Only the repeat ultrasound two weeks later will be able to confirm it. Till then, you need to continue Progesterone and Aspirin.
Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
