Do I need treatment for premature ejaculation?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 37 years old, a gynecologist too and have two kids. My sex life was absolutely fantastic before two months but my wife had a conversation with her friends that their husbands are doing sex for half an hour. I made her understand that normal ejaculation time is 8 to 10 minutes and that we are having when we do it. She understood but now after sex she is not being satisfied. I am worried about this so I want to know whether it is premature ejaculation. If yes, then what is the treatment and if no, then is there any tablet available to increase the time duration of ejaculation?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

No, it is not a premature ejaculation, and it is normal to have ejaculations after this much time. In premature ejaculations, usually, ejaculation occurs within a minute. Still, to increase your ejaculation time, you can try behavioral techniques like technique which involves stimulating/penetrating the penis and stopping just before you feel you are about to ejaculate. Stop the stimulation for 30 to 60 seconds and start again once you feel that you have regained control. You can repeat this process again and again.

Although, I cannot recommend a medical treatment as it is not a premature ejaculation, you can try using Lidocaine-Prilocaine spray to be sprayed over glans 5 minutes before intercourse and it will prolong the ejaculation time. Other medicines like Paroxetine and all are not recommended for you as it is not a true condition.
