Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My girlfriend and I were having fun and accidentally some of my semen got into her vagina, and since then she has not got her period. Is she pregnant? What tests should we do?

Answered by Dr. Richa Agarwal

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Thanks for trusting us with our health care. I have gone through your history in detail and understand your concerns. As per your description, these symptoms could be due to hormonal imbalance but they could be due to pregnancy also. But as you missed your period it could be an anovulatory cycle (due to hormonal changes) or due to pregnancy. You should go for a home urine pregnancy test after seven days of your missed period date or blood beta hCG (human chorionic gonadotrophin) testing to rule out pregnancy right now. If pregnancy is not there it could be due to hormonal imbalance and you can wait and watch for your menstruation or can take progesterone for withdrawal bleeding. Get your thyroid profile and hemoglobin test also for any hormonal changes.

I hope you found this useful, feel free to ask for more information.

Good luck.

Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
