Can a supplement aid in managing premature ejaculation?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 25 years old male with an average body (height 5'7", weigh 84 kg). I exercise regularly (running, weightlifting). However, I feel like my metabolism is low. I do not eat heavily, nor drink or smoke. Even being this way I can observe that I do not lose weight and most of the times I can see an increase in my body weight. Lately, I started to observe that I have premature ejaculation and at times weak erection. I do not even see the morning erection anymore. I researched a bit about a solution for ED and premature ejaculation and found that consuming L-Arginine could benefit me. But at the same time, I am confused with the side effects. Is there any better herb or supplements that can help prevent my situation.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

There are a few things you should know about this condition. First of all, if the ejaculations happen before two minutes during sex, we call it as premature ejaculation.

There are two types. One is the primary type that is from the beginning of sex life, usually kind of a genetic condition. Secondary type is usually due to some risk factors like performance anxiety, overweight, stress or thyroid disorder. Vitamin D deficiency also can contribute. Around 20 percent males have this condition.

Treatment wise there are natural methods including pelvic strengthening exercises, certain diet changes, and Ayurvedic supplements. Natural methods will help and the effect is long-standing but it may take time to show its effect, till then medicines may be necessary so a combination of both medicines and natural will be required. Just taking medicines will solve the issue as long as you are on medicines but for a long-lasting cure, start the natural methods too so that once you stop medicines, the effect persists. I will suggest both.
