Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been getting a stinging feeling while urinating which only happens sometimes and it also lingers around the tip of my penis after I have urinated. I have been to my doctor and had antibiotics but they did not work. What could it be?

Please help.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for your reply.

I am not diabetic or hypertensive and I have no other illnesses. Although, I have struggled with acid reflux for a few years on and off. I had no surgeries in the past, and when urinating I have no abnormalities. I have no sudden urge or anything like that it is perfectly normal and no blood. I have had urine tests that were clear and fine. I am not sexually active and I masturbate maybe once or twice a week. I only had pain once while ejaculating. I have a sting in my penis sometimes, and yes I stay sat down most of the day due to my job and there is no groin or perineal pain. What to do?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

The symptoms you are describing point towards prostatitis which is one of the most common conditions in men between 18 to 45 years of age. With the correct precautions and treatment, most men get near-total relief very soon. So, I suggest you follow the instructions mentioned below.

1. Avoid prolonged sitting, get up every hour and walk around for 5 minutes.

2. Drink at least 101.4 fluid ounces of water per day.

3. Masturbate at least 3 times a week. This keeps the semen circulating to avoid stasis and infection.

4. You need to do a semen test for culture and sensitivity.

5. Take a tablet of Alfuzosin (α₁ blocker) once daily.

6. Take a tablet of Cranbac D (cranberry) twice daily.

7. Take a capsule of Econorm (probiotic) twice daily.

Kindly consult a specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medicines with their consent.

Hope it helps.

Thanks and regards.
