Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had bleeding in my rectum and light vaginal bleeding for five days before my period. I am concerned about it. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

According to your statement, you have been suffering from per rectal bleeding. Per rectal bleeding may be seen due to constipation, piles, fissures, hemorrhoids, and more. For per-rectal bleeding, you can take Lactulose to soften your stool and ease constipation. You can take Tranexamic acid to stop rectal bleeding. You should take plenty of green leafy vegetables and fluids to avoid constipation. Sometimes antibiotics may be needed for healing local inflammation, and a sitz bath may also be helpful. Taking Tranexamic acid also may help to stop your vaginal bleeding. Sometimes, light vaginal bleeding may be seen before starting your menstrual cycle. It can alsohappen for various reasons like urinary tract infection, pelvic inflammatory disease, endometriosis, cervical problems, renal stones, etc.

I would suggest you undergo some investigations like urine RME (routine microscopic test), USG (ultrasonography) of the whole abdomen, VIA (visual inspection with acetic acid) test, colonoscopy or proctoscopy to find out the exact causes for both rectal and vaginal bleeding and do as needful according to the cause.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.

Regards.
