Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My 37 years old wife developed a few eruptions around a week ago. She applied T Bact for three to four days but did not get complete relief.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

  1. Is she having a fever?
  2. Is she diabetic?
  3. Is she experiencing itching or burning at present?
  4. Does she have any history of burns or injury, or trauma recently?
  5. Is she on certain oral or systemic medications?
  6. I suggest applying Soframycin 1 % cream (framycetin sulfate IP 1 %, preservatives-methyl paraben IP 0.08 %, and propylparaben IP 0.04 %) or Burnol twice daily for 10 days. Clean the area with cotton gauze twice daily with a povidone-iodine solution for 10 days.

    Follow up after 10 days.

Revert with the answer to assist further.

    Thank you and take care.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

She has no fever, and is not a diabetic, but has itching. No history of burns or injury, or trauma. She is on medication Pregadoc D 75 mg or 20mg for tingling in her arms. She applied T Bact for three to four days but was not much relieved. Please advise if any food restriction is needed.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

No food restrictions as such. Apply Acivir 1 % (colloidal silicon dioxide, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, and microcrystalline cellulose) ointment twice daily for seven days. It appears to be sore in the arm and hand (attachments removed to protect the patient’s identity). Continue the multivitamin pill for 15 days.

  1. Do not scratch or rub the lesion.
  2. Decontaminate surroundings.
  3. Avoid exposure to contaminated fomites.
  4. Maintain proper hygiene.
  5. Stay hydrated and healthy.
  6. Avoid stress. Stay relaxed as stress is a big contributing factor.

I hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My wife had applied the Acivir 1% ointment and other medications over a month. She got relief however there was itching and the scar did not disappear. Kindly advise on the next steps.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I do understand your concern.

It appears to be a superficial fungal infection due to excess sweating.

  1. Apply 1 % Luliconazole cream twice daily in the morning and night for 6 weeks.
  2. Use Ketoconazole soap for bath for 2 months.
  3. Apply Mupirocin cream or T-bact cream in the evening for 2 weeks.
  4. Avoid tight-fitting clothes.
  5. Wear loose comfortable thin cotton clothes.
  6. Avoid scratching and rubbing of lesions.
  7. Keep your nails short.
  8. Do not share your belongings.
  9. Maintain proper hygiene.
  10. Wash clothes separately in hot water.

I hope this helps.
