Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have noticed small red dots on the tip of my penis. All in the same area, no itching, no swelling or anything like that. Sometimes they are barely noticeable and as far as I remember, I had them for about three weeks now. Last time I had sex, it was about four months ago and it was protected.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. According to your statement, you have been suffering from small red spots on the tip of the penis for the last three weeks.

Small red spots on the tip of the penis may result from yeast infections, frictions due to clothing, balanitis, contact dermatitis, drug rash, scabies, STD like genital herpes, syphilis, etc.

Treatment depends on the causes. You can undergo some investigations like CBC (complete blood count) with circulating eosinophil count, urine R/M/E, urethral swab for culture, RBS (random blood sugar), etc., to find out the exact cause for your present sufferings and then treat them accordingly. In the meantime, you can use antibacterial cream with antifungal cream and Corticosteroid creams.

I want to add something here. According to the pictures that are provided here (attachment removed to protect patient identity), I think you are probably suffering from balanitis or yeast infections which may cause such type of small red spots on the tip of penis. Strictly maintain personal hygiene. Wear loose clothing for preventing the tip of the penis from any type of frictions or injury. Wash your tip of the penis with its underlying skin with slightly warm water daily and continue to apply the above mentioned topical medications on your affected area until your problems will not be subsided.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
