Reflux Laryngitis

When the gastric acids reach up through the esophagus and get in contact with the larynx or the voice box, it leads to inflammation of the voice box, known as reflux laryngitis. It is accompanied by heartburn. Other symptoms include voice hoarseness, feeling of something stuck in the throat, cough, difficulty swallowing, frequent throat clearing, etc. Proton pump inhibitors are used to treat reflux laryngitis.
