Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been in pain in these last three days because of my tooth. It looks like the baby tooth has not been removed so the permanent tooth grows outside my gums. I have not slept for one day because of this. As my tooth starts to heal or does not hurt my cheeks and starts to swell. As time pass by, my cheek is big now. It does not hurt but the tooth in the front starts aching. Today, I am still suffering from this awful ailment in the tooth.

Note: My another front tooth is blackening. I do not know why? Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Baby tooth are supposed to shake or become loose when our permanent successor tooth erupts. Sometimes retained baby tooth can be seen if our permanent tooth is erupting in a different direction. The solution to this is the removal of the retained baby tooth. Once the obstruction by a baby tooth is cleared, the permanent tooth will erupt in a proper position. It is possible for pain and swelling to occur in cheeks if any of the adjacent teeth are infected by decay or cavity.

Tooth blackening is a common sign of tooth decay or cavity. You may require a tooth removal (baby tooth) after which you will be put under pain killers to control your pain. And the remaining teeth should be examined for decays. Please visit a nearby dentist to start with your treatment.

I hope this helps.
