How to get rid of the recurring ringworm rashes?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I keep getting ringworm rashes repeatedly, even after treatment near the perineum, which causes irritation. The rash keeps getting larger each time. I have used ketoconazole and Eberconazole and Mometasone creams. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. It appears to be tinea corporis. I would suggest you apply 1% Luliconazole cream or Terbinafine cream at night for six weeks. Wash the area with Ketoconazole soap or gentle face wash for two months. Avoid scratching and rubbing of lesions. Avoid moisture or heat, as moisture favors fungal growth. Wear loose and comfortable thin cotton clothes. Avoid occlusive tight wear. Wear boxers if you can. Stay in a well-ventilated cool environment. I would also suggest you take tablet Fluconazole 400 mg stat or tablet Fluconazole 150 mg once a day after food for three days (after renal function test and liver function test counts). Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her, and take the medicines with their consent.

Also, I would suggest you avoid activities that cause sweating, keep your nails short, keep a check on sugar levels, bath twice daily in lukewarm water with 0.06 oz of antiseptic liquid added to bath water, or use neem leaves. Stay healthy, stay happy, and avoid stress.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.

Regards.
