Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My 25-year-old brother was given Invega 12 mg for schizophrenia. Could you provide information on its effectiveness in managing his condition? What are the common side effects associated with Invega that he might experience during his treatment? He behaves strangely, and we are not able to guess how he reacts or behaves at times. We are even scared to go to his room. He even hit my sister when she went to give him food. We cannot sleep peacefully at home. We are all so stressed, and we hope a good time will come to him. My dad is a heart patient, and we are worried he might fall sick with so much stress he bears. Please give your advice.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Invega (Paliperidone) long-acting injectables are a good option to control schizophrenia. Initially, he can see side effects like tremors, salivation, stiffness, etc. After at least two to three injections administered only you can see results. It also means it takes time to see the results of the injection. So, initially, if possible, give medicine with injection for better and faster results. Another option for fast delivery is electroconvulsive treatment. You can opt for a better outcome.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards.
