Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My husband's semen analysis result shows azoospermia. We done it twice and the result remains the same. What shall we do?

Answered by Dr. Gopinath

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Azoospermia was confirmed by two reports. So, kindly have him examined by an andrologist. He has to be examined for secondary sexual features, testes size and presence of gas. His FSH levels (follicle-stimulating hormone) must be checked too. By doing these we would be able to differentiate whether he has an obstructive or non obstructive azoospermia. If testes size is normal and FSH levels are normal, then obstructive azoospermia is likely. In such a case, needle aspiration from epididymis or testes may have sperms and shall be used for ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection).

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
