Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My liquefication time is 30 minutes; abstinence is three days; appearance is grey opalescent, consistency is normal, pH is 8, agglutination is nil with seminal volume of 2 ml, sperm concentration of 77 million/ml, morphology of 40 %, progressive motility of 40 % and rapid progressive of four percent. How bad is the semen analysis report? (I tried it for ten months but had no luck). Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
The semen report is normal. Sperm concentration should be 15 million/ml, morphology 4 %, and progressive motility 40 %. Now read this: Infertility can occur due to many reasons. Several tests of both partners are done, including but not limited to semen analysis, blood tests, and ultrasound.
Depending on the reports, treatment is decided. Sometimes all the reports are normal, it is called unexplained infertility. It is still treated empirically. The results of treatment are uncertain. Yet our treatment is cheap and does not include assisted reproductive technologies like IUI (intrauterine insemination), IVF (invitro fertilization), or ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection).
To improve your fertility, you should eat more fruits and vegetables, cut down on smoking and alcohol, stay away from heat and chemicals, and not use the laptop on your lap. If you do, then put it on a cushion on your lap. Also, if obese, then you should reduce weight but do not take formulas. So, your wife's reports are also needed.
I hope this helps.
Please revert so I can assist you further.
Thank you.
