Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I noticed that my semen turns black when it comes into contact with water. I even consulted a sexologist and had my semen analysis done. The reports did not show anything abnormal. So, what could be the reason for the presence of black particles in my semen?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

There could be several potential explanations for the presence of black particles in your semen, such as:

1. Blood: If blood mixes with semen, it can cause discoloration and give the appearance of black particles. It is possible that a small amount of blood is present in your semen, even though it may not have been detected during the semen analysis.

2. Medications or supplements: Certain medications or supplements may cause changes in the color or appearance of semen.

3. Infection.

I would like to suggest you kindly attach the photo of black semen to help you further.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.
