Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My age is 26 years. My sex urge has dropped since three months I guess because of testosterone. I had been doing bodybuilding before and was taking testosterone.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have gone through the problem and understand your concern. Yes, high doses of testosterone can cause a decrease in sexual libido. As it is a well-known fact that testosterone is a must for sexual libido but higher dose can decrease it. Once you stop testosterone, your libido will return to normal level after a few months, as the body gets back to its normal function. So stop it now and wait for a few months.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
It has been six months after the stoppage, but still, it is not back to normal.
Kindly help.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
If it is six months and not returning back to normal, then get serum prolactin levels, serum testosterone levels and semen analysis done. If these return to normal, then you can wait for a few more months. If abnormal test results come, then consult with your doctor in person.
