Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am 39 years old and weigh 160 pounds. I have been taking Levosulpiride, Rabeprazole, and a combination of Flupenthixol and Melitracen, as well as Domperidone and Rabeprazole, for the past 15 days. After starting these medications, I have been experiencing a low sex drive and problems with erections. Could these medications be causing these symptoms? If not, what might be the possible causes? Can I use Sildenafil citrate to address these issues? If so, what dosage is recommended, and under what brand names is it available?
Please suggest.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have read and understood your problem.
Levosulpiride and Flupenthixol can cause issues with erections, which may be the cause of your erectile dysfunction. Sildenafil citrate is typically prescribed at a dose of 50 mg, taken about three hours before sexual activity. However, it is important to consult with a healthcare professional for a thorough evaluation, including a check of your blood pressure, before starting Sildenafil citrate.
Regards.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thank you for the response.
These medications were prescribed by a gastroenterologist for one month to treat colitis. I have a question: Will my condition return to normal once I stop taking these medications? Specifically, will I be able to achieve an erection again after discontinuing Levosulpiride and Flupenthixol?
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Yes, your condition should return to normal after you stop taking Levosulpiride and Flupenthixol. The side effects are temporary, but it may take one or more weeks for everything to return to normal.
I hope this helps you.
Thank you.
