Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 20 weeks pregnant. I wanted to know that does having sex during pregnancy harm my baby? And is it safe?

Answered by Dr. Richa Agarwal

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Having sex during your entire pregnancy is safe. Some precautions should be taken:

  1. Have sexual intercourse in a position in which pressure on the uterus is very less.
  2. Always use a condom during coitus (sexual intercourse).
  3. The act should be very gentle.
  4. Do not try different poses.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
