What are the ways to control repetitive lustful thoughts towards a person?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 21-year-old male. Since childhood, I have been a good son to my mother. However, since seven months, I have been feeling lustful when I see her, touch her, or sleep on her lap. Unknowingly, my penis is becoming large. I do not have any sexual feelings towards her. I have tried to divert myself by watching porn videos to get attracted to other women, but I cannot. I am very sad about my behavior. Also, my studies are getting affected. I am feeling lonely. I cannot stay with my mother or spend time with her. I do not want this to repeat as it is affecting my relationship with my mother. I want to come out of all this.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern and will surely help you out. You have an obsessive thought disorder. You should not stay alone with your mother or sleep with her on the same bed (you are an adult now) as it will increase your thoughts. It is fine to be attracted to a mother at this tender age, but when you cannot control it, it is an illness. You should stop watching porn. I suggest you learn relaxation techniques that help reduce your thoughts and start the medication capsule Fluoxetine 20 mg daily in the morning after breakfast. Consult a specialist doctor, talk to him or her, and start the medication with their consent. Also, you should do meditation for 10 to 20 minutes daily.

I hope this helps. Kindly revert in case of further doubts.

Thank you.
