Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 35-year-old male seeking your guidance and expertise regarding a matter related to my sexual health. Over the past few months, I have noticed changes in my libido, and require insights on how to address this issue. Specifically, I have observed a significant decrease in my sexual desire and interest. This change has affected both my relationships and my overall well-being. I am concerned about it. What steps are needed to improve my libido? Please advise.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read the query, and I can understand your concern.

Low Libido causes are:

  1. Infections – It can be due to a urine infection. Do a complete urine analysis and ultrasound of the pelvis to diagnose the cause.

  2. Diabetes or hypertension – Make sure blood pressure and blood sugar are under control. If you are already on medication, share the medication name.

  3. Hormonal disturbances- Low testosterone, low levels of thyroid, and high levels of prolactin are potential causes. Check for TFT (thyroid function test), prolactin, and testosterone levels.

  4. Obesity - Plan for regular exercise and yoga.

  5. High cholesterol – Check for lipid profile and plan for regular exercise.

  6. If you have a chronic disease or are on any medication, share the details.

  7. Anxiety can also cause libido issues.

I suggest you do a USG pelvis (ultrasound pelvis) to rule out pelvis infection, thyroid check-up for free T3 (triiodothyronine), T4 (thyroxine), TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone), lipid profile to know cholesterol level, blood pressure, and RBS (random blood sugar). Kindly share more details regarding the above reason so we can work on the cause and treatment. Meanwhile, I suggest you use the tablet Mildfil (Tadalafil) 5 mg twice a day as a temporary solution. Consult a specialist doctor, talk to them, and then take the medication.

I hope this will help you.

    Thank you.
