Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

A couple of years ago I had sex with a woman and the condom slipped off during withdrawal. I was concerned and got the NAAT chlamydia test. Later I have realized I peed too much in the cup. I am worried my test was false negative due to dilution. Unsure of the results I got tested again and it came back negative. But I think I have passed it to my partner as she has been suffering from heavy abdominal pains since a couple of days before her period. I am very much concerned as I think I passed sexually transmitted diseases to my partner. Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to Icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

There are rare chances that you have gotten any infection from previous intercourse because the condom slipped during withdrawal and not during intercourse. Another thing is even if you had chlamydia, then there should be symptoms like irritation or burning sensations while urination, pain in the abdomen, and rashes on the penis. But as you do not have any such symptoms, there are no signs of sexually transmitted disease and hence your test was negative. The symptoms experienced by your partner can be due to various other reasons such as urine infection or else polycystic ovarian disease which is very common in females.

So I would suggest you do an ultrasound examination of your girlfriend once, and you can do her urine test as well to check why she is getting such abdomen pain, and then we can treat it accordingly.

  1. Does she have any rashes on her pubic area?
  2. Is there any burning sensation while urinating?

Please let me know so I can help you accordingly.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
