Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
A couple of months ago, I started experiencing rashes on various parts of my body. The bumps were very small and sometimes slightly red, and sometimes they appeared to be skin-colored. I went to the dermatologist for the first time (I have never experienced skin problems), and he said I had a skin condition, but I do not remember the name. He explained it was genetic and often induced by hormonal changes or stress. And the doctor prescribed a lotion to use with a loofah during showers. I had just experienced a big move, so the stress made sense. I spent the holidays with my family and returned home a couple of days ago. I woke up this morning with a rash along the side of my body. Yesterday at work, I also noticed a small rash on my forearms. What is going on? I suspect I am allergic to dust mites, but before I purchase expensive bed covers, some advice is appreciated. I have attached a photograph for your reference.
Please help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I went through your query and understood your concern.
From your description and the pictures shared, it seems you have papular urticaria (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). It is a type of insect hypersensitivity reaction which is genetically determined. It is a very common problem and harmless too. It is treated with oral antihistamines, so I suggest you to take tablets Montair-LC (Montelukast and Levocetirizine) 10 mg and Allegra (Fexofenadine) 120 mg once daily. The treatment may sometimes last for months. And I also suggest you to use a topical soothing lotion like Calamine that would help relieve your symptoms. Kindly get the food allergy and thyroid tests done to rule out yeast intolerance.
Consult a specialist, talk with them and take the medications with their consent.
I hope this helps.
Kindly follow up with the reports.
Take care.
