Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 21-year-old female. My height is 5' 5 and my weight is 176 pounds. I have rashes on the back and shoulders. Initially, they were small, but now they have become big. They are not itchy but appear white and scaly.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

As per the history and image provided (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity), a possible diagnosis would be Tinea versicolor which appears as white patches with silvery white scales on the back and shoulder areas apart from the face, trunk, and limbs. They occur when the normal fungal commensals flare up due to weakened immunity. They are not contagious but may increase in size within our body and appear elsewhere. They are most often asymptomatic. I would request you to provide another picture of the lesion for inspection and a definite diagnosis, as without being able to view the lesion, providing a diagnosis would not be correct. Kindly provide me with sufficient details and images to help you with the medication.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
