Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a case of sleepwalking, if you would call it, but the problem is I woke up in the middle of the night. I woke my mom up and walked around the kitchen until my mom gave me a glass of water. Then, I followed her to the bathroom, where I stood outside motionless. The worst part is that I do not remember anything except I woke up and yelled out colors. Then, I went back to sleep. I play games five hours a day, and I do not sleep late. I woke up at night and complained to my mom about my hands feeling heavy and feeling extremely scared of something. It seems to be getting worse, and I have had headaches recently. Please help me. Is it because of the game, stress, or ordinary sleepwalking?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your query and concern.

You said that you do not remember anything that you do during nighttime and you are addicted to gaming. Your mother may be right in this case that excessive gaming can be the reason for this. Excessive gaming can cause stress to your mind, and it can lead to a variety of symptoms, including sleep-related disorders. I would suggest you at least reduce the time duration you spend on gaming rather than maintain good sleep hygiene. Do not eat anything before going to bed, and do not drink tea or coffee before going to bed. Do not sleep with a mobile phone in bed, and avoid internet surfing, chatting, or gaming in bed. Fix the proper time to go to bed and wake up time. Maintain a proper sleep schedule, consume a proper diet, and reduce gaming. These few tips may definitely help you.

Hope this helps.

Regards.
