Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am having extremely swollen labia of the lips almost five times their size after having rough sex, and I am not having sex for weeks. I have had a yeast infection that I treated three times in the past two years. The lips have been swollen for over nine hours. I am not sure if this is a yeast infection. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The cause of swollen labia may be either an allergic reaction to something. Sometimes, insect bites or reactions to any ointment applied can cause swelling in such a short duration. I suggest you take the following medication.

1. Tablet Avil (Pheniramine) 25 mg twice daily for three days.

2. Ointment Surfaz-SN (Beclometasone, Neomycin, and Clotrimazole) locally at bedtime.

3. Tablet Combiflam (Ibuprofen, and Paracetamol) thrice a day for three days.

I also suggest you have bed rest for at least 24 hours till swelling starts decreasing in size.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I feel the need to treat the yeast infection, especially since I did not fully complete my dosage the last time. Is this necessary?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I think the problem is not due to yeast infection. If you have an itching vulva, I suggest you take a tablet of Forcan (Fluconazole) 150 mg single dose.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
