I have attached my sperm count analysis report. Are the values normal?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My sperm count is 64 M/mL, motility 60 %, rapid linear progressive 15 %, sluggish linear progressive 15 %, forward progressive 30 %, morphology normal 35 % and abnormal 65 %. Are these values normal?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Are there any pus cells or WBC's (white blood cells) in the sample report? Also, is the fructose test positive? Please share the complete report as an attachment.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Please check my semen analysis report.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

As I can see, your sperm count is normal, (attachment removed to protect patient identity) but your motility is low especially the forward progressive which should be ideally more than 40 %. There are no pus cells, hence the absence of infection is ruled out. Overall the report is normal, but motility can be improved with medications for two months at least which shall increase your chances of conception. If you are not keen on medications, then you can opt for two cycles of natural intercourse, and if still no conception then you can try IUI or intrauterine insemination with post sperm washed sample which shall increase the concentration of live, actively mobile sperms in the sample and can increase your chances by 10 to 15 %. Provided there are no female infertility factors, and they have been ruled out as well.
