Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I was sterilized five months back, and since then I have not had a period. I have terrible breastpain and acne on my chin and back, which is strange because I have never had acne before. Why is this happening? Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. According to your statement, you had a history of sterilization and, since then, having no menstrual cycles and suffering from breast pain and developing acne on the chin and back. Most clinical studies have suggested that sterilization will not change menstrual periods or someone's natural hormones. But some studies have also revealed that some women may experience menstrual abnormalities like the absence of menstrual cycles and some complications like breast pain and acne due to hormonal imbalance that occurred after sterilization. Again, failure of sterilization can also cause hormonal imbalance menstrual irregularities, breast pain, acne etc. Hormonal imbalance may also cause breast cysts, which are painful in nature. In case of long-term breast pain, the affected women should inform her physician for further examination and evaluation. Again, menstrual abnormalities are a potential side effect of Topiramate as it may cause hormonal imbalance in the body. Please consult your physician, check the fact, and do as needed.

Take care. I hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for the reply.

Please tell me, is an Estradiol level of 745 high?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Usually, 30 to 400 pg/mL is normal, according to your age. So, 745 pg/mL should be considered high estradiol (estrogen steroid) levels. High Estradiol levels can cause some clinical symptoms such as acne, constipation, breast enlargement and pain, menstrual abnormalities, fatigue, mood swings, weight gain and many more. So, you are suffering from those complications like breast pain, acne, and menstrual irregularities, which may be resulted from high estradiol levels or hormonal imbalance. You should consult your doctor for high estradiol levels and undergo some investigations according to her advice for detecting the exact causes of your high Estradiol levels and then treat them accordingly.

Take care.

Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
