Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am an 18-year-old female with a weight of 145 lbs, and I am having stomach issues when I masturbate. This issue has been going on for more than two months, and the pain is on and off and slowly progressing. I was prescribed Trazodone, Topamax, and Zoloft for about four years but not for this issue. I had to get tested for my stomach because I have irritable bowel syndrome. I do not know if there could be something wrong with me. A month ago, I had sex with my boyfriend, and I had horrible pain in my stomach that felt like period cramps, and that is what it feels like when I masturbate now, I do not know if it is because I am near my menstrual cycle or if it is something else. I am just concerned and want to know if there is any way I can fix it.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I thoroughly read your query and understand your concern.

You are a teenager and can have menstrual disturbance and related symptoms like abdominal pain or tender breast and mood variation before menses as premenstrual syndrome. But as you described, you have irritable bowel syndrome and have been on anticonvulsants and antidepressants, so you need to sort it out properly. First of all, many medications also have side effects and mostly on the gastric system. So you better have a proper consultation with a physician to have a complete check-up and review of medications for irritable bowel and depression. Have you had a history of fits?

My suggestions are:

  • Take care of yourself properly.
  • Have a healthy, well, and nutritious soft diet with fruits, vegetables, and plenty of water but avoid a citrus one.
  • Practice daily walking, regular exercise, and yoga, and try a balanced diet.
  • Have recreational activities and quit recreational drugs.
  • You can have a tablet of Ponstan (mefenamic acid) 500 mg before sex to reduce symptoms, but my suggestion is better to reduce the cause, as I mentioned above.
  • Engage in nice recreational activities with family, like outings, swimming, painting, gardening, etc.
  • Hope this has answered your query.

    Thanks and regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
