Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am having stomach upset. In the morning, I had two rice fermented pancakes with onion gravy, but it was made of coconut oil. I never had food made of coconut oil before. And, I had rice, lentils, and a bit of homemade tamarind rice. It had become dry as it was kept in a tightly closed cover for almost three days. We had our food outside in the evening. I have used the washroom more than four times, and I took one Eldoper tablet.
Kindly advise.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
1) You have mentioned the symptoms of stomach upset. Do you have abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting? This is important because, based on them, it is only possible to guess which part of the alimentary tract was affected by food.
2) Based on your details, you might have a food-induced intestinal infection or inflammation (irritation, enteritis).
3) Generally, food poisoning also affects the stomach and causes gastritis, which causes severe nausea and episodes of vomiting (absent in your case).
4) When diarrhea occurs due to any reason, it causes loss of water and electrolytes from the body. This causes lethargy, tiredness, and fatigue.
I would suggest the following measures:
Treatment to maintain hydration. Treatment to reduce diarrhea. Antibiotic treatment for infection.
I hope you are satisfied with my answer. For further queries, you can consult me at iCliniq.
Thank you.
