Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 21 years old and have been experiencing hair loss since 10 years, from the time I had chicken pox. At the initial stages, I felt that was normal, but it continued. I took various medications and consulted many doctors. Shampoos, tonics, oils, masks, and medication recommended by doctors did not make any difference, so I have switched to home remedies. I followed a proper diet, used various oils, switched to low-sulfate shampoos, and applied aloe vera regularly. I have also tried ayurvedic treatments and I am tired as there was not much difference. I am losing more hair, and the hairline is getting wider as days passes. Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to iclinq.com.

I can understand your concern.

I would like you to know that, 75 to100 hair fall every day is normal. So, it should be considered as hair loss only if the number of hair falls more than this. Generalized hair fall in female is mostly due to stress, poor sleep, poor nutrition and excessive blood loss due to menstruation. Stress alopecia is also common in which female keeps their hair very tight causing tension in root and hair fall. Straightening and other procedures also weakens the root. Other conditions like fever, typhoid, malaria, thyroid, etc., can also cause hair fall, but these are less common. I advise you follow the below mentioned suggestions:

Consume proper food with green vegetables and fruits.

  1. Consume proper food with green vegetables and fruits.
  2. Have a good sleep for atleast seven to eight hours.
  3. Take multivitamin tablet like Follihair (Biotin)or xtraglo (L-Cysteine) for at least three months.
  4. Check for blood hemoglobin levels. If it is less, Start taking Iron and Folic acid supplements.
  5. Check for thyroid and diabetes to rule out other causes.
  6. Apply Follihair hair serum (Hydrogenated castor oil) daily morning, locally.
  7. Apply 1ml or 0.2 tablespoon of 2% Minoxidil (Propylene glycol) during night.
  8. Take tablet Xtraglo (L-Cysteine) once daily for three months.
  9. Kindly consult a specialist, talk to them and take the medication with their consent.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.
