Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 26-year-old and have been under so much stress for the last three months that I cannot sleep. Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

I cannot help you to solve your underlying stress, but I can help you to teach you to deal with it. It will help you.

  1. It will help if you exercise 30 to 45 minutes daily, like at least going for a walk. It will reduce stress.
  2. You should meditate for 20 minutes daily, just sit in a comfortable position and try to concentrate on your normal breathing, and do not stop or force yourself to control your thoughts. It will relax and calm your mind.
  3. You should eat healthy home-cooked food and avoid junk food.
  4. You must drink enough water.
  5. It would help if you spent quality time with friends and family daily.
  6. You should spend time on creative hobbies like reading good books, writing journals, painting, drawing, and learning new skills or language or musical instruments.
  7. You should get eight hours of sleep daily.
  8. It will help if you fix your time for sleep, which means you must set the time to sleep and wake.
  9. It would help if you did not do any other activities in bed.
  10. Wear loose and comfortable clothes for sleep.
  11. Take light food at night or dinner at least three hours before sleep.
  12. You can take a maximum of 20 minutes of nap a day.
  13. Do not use a mobile, television, or laptop for at least half an hour before sleep. Try to maintain an adequate temperature in your room, which means not so cold or hot.
  14. Have a proper bed and pillow.
  15. Make sure there is no noise or disturbance at night.
  16. You can drink warm milk with turmeric before sleep.
  17. It will help if you avoid tobacco or alcohol, or any substance abuse.

Try to find the solution to your problem with the help of friends and relatives.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.
