I have subclinical hyperthyroidism with some sort of active nuts and thyroid stimulating hormone at 0.09 and an autoimmune process. Kindly help.

What symptoms do you have? Did you also check free T4 and T3 besides TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone)? If not done, please do a thyroid uptake scan. If you are symptomatic, you can be treated even if the hyperthyroidism is subclinical. Please send more information about how long you had symptoms, when did you first do blood tests, any current or previous pregnancy, and family history of thyroid disease, and attach the reports of the blood tests and scans if any.

Hello doctor,
I have discomfort in the throat area. It feels like it is choking me. The biggest issue is that all tests here are done out of the country and based on that radioactive iodine was prescribed. The problem is I do not have a primary doctor. Where I live the closest appointment is five to six months away. I do not have that much time. My thyroid has to be treated today. It has overgrown. I will try to provide the information you requested. I never got pregnant but planning to get one in the future. Please help.

Radioactive Iodine is not needed as soon as possible. You can get medicines first, like Methimazole (Lactose monohydrate, Magnesium stearate, starch, pregelatinized starch, and talc). I cannot prescribe medicines to you. Also, I need reports of all the blood tests and the thyroid uptake scan. You can visit any primary care doctor in your area and they can prescribe you medicines temporarily until you see the specialist. The symptoms you describe may be related to the thyroid or not. In the meanwhile, you can take medicines over the counter like Zyrtec (Cetirizine and pseudoephedrine) and Prilosec (cellulose, disodium hydrogen phosphate, Hydroxypropyl cellulose, Hypromellose, Lactose, Mannitol, and Sodium lauryl sulfate ), do warm water gargling and pain killers like Tylenol (Acetaminophen).
