Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have very low self-esteem. I hate myself. I always think I am a failure. But is it healthy to think every day about killing yourself, but I have not tried it yet? Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
These types of thoughts are not healthy and normal. Sometimes we all get hopeless and sad, but it is temporary. After some time, we get back to normal, but as per your description, you still have not done anything bad; you blame yourself and feel like being dead. This indicates a psychiatric issue, most probably a depressive illness. In your case, there is a need for immediate psychiatric consultation, evaluation, diagnostic workup, and further intervention. I suggest you consult a psychiatrist as soon as possible at your local place and start treatment. If possible, tell your family and friends about your feelings and take their support. If not treated on time, your problem may increase, and every problem has a solution depression is a very common Illness with effective treatment. I hope this helps you.
Thank you.
